My goal is to provide the best dentistry available, in a state-of-the-art facility that makes each patient feel comfortable and among friends. I want to provide the most advanced and comprehensive dental treatments to each patient. I have a good heart and a ready ear. I look forward to meeting each new patient during our first interview where we can establish a strong foundation to build phenomenal smiles upon.
I was turned on to dentistry by my very own dentist, who took me on in a mentor relationship when I graduated high school. He introduced me to the dean of Washington University School of Dentistry and together they sold me on the profession. I graduated from University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1980 and continued my studies at an array of institutes afterward.
I studied advanced cosmetic dentistry at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry and attended Peter Dawson Center and US Institute of Orthodontic Studies. I was trained in full-mouth reconstruction, and continue my education today at LSU Center for Advanced Dental Studies, with a focus on coursework regarding cosmetic dentistry. I have been certified in Invisalign® orthodontic, and denture work by Geneva 2000™.
Being directly linked to the professional community is very important to me, and I am part of numerous professional organizations, including:
I like to offer a diverse range of treatments to meet all the different needs my patients bring to the office. I want to offer my patients a one-stop shop where all their dental needs can be met. By keeping up-to-date knowledge of dentistry, I am able to offer a full range of dental care and services for all ages. My staff and I are fully trained on VELscope® Technology, and I am a certified CEREC® provider. I also have advanced training in all aspects of dentistry.
I have three wonderful children. My son Adam is a Marine, now currently in the reserve, married to Taylor, and living in St. Louis. He is my appointment coordinator in the office and my running partner at home, and they are the proud parents of Lola, our first granddaughter! My eldest daughter Kaitlin is a DePauw University graduate and working in marketing in St. Louis. My youngest, Natalie, is a University of Wisconsin grad. She has completed two years in China with the Peace Corps and now is obtaining a master's degree from Johns Hopkins School for International Affairs in Washington DC.
My wife Kathy is our marketing and professional development coordinator. We have been married for 35 years, and make our home in St. Louis. Together we enjoy landscape gardening, exercise, and Mizzou sports. We are also very active in our community with the Saint Louis Zoo, Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, Habitat for Humanity, and the Gateway180 shelter for the homeless. We also enjoy spending time with our large extended family in St. Louis.
I am fortunate to have a career which allows me to get to know people from different backgrounds and work with each to reach their dental goals.
I love meeting new people and building trusting relationships based on communication and respect. We form a partnership, improving the individual’s dental health and enhancing their smile, which raises their confidence.
Growing up, I was drawn to science and healthcare, yet also had artistic interests. Dentistry offers a mix of those, along with the human-connection aspect; I find the combination to be the perfect fit for my skills and interests.
I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and obtained my Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) at A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health.
Since finishing dental school, I have actively pursued continuing education (CE), staying up to date on the latest developments in general and more specialized aspects of dentistry. I have completed CE courses in dental photography, aesthetic and digital dentistry, Invisalign®, and CEREC® training. I also participate in various dental study clubs.
Ongoing learning keeps me current on the latest innovations in technology and technique, as well as emerging trends and research. This ensures my patients receive the advanced, high-quality care they deserve.
I am a member of the:
As a dentist, I strive to provide each patient with a fully personalized experience. I want to learn who they are and to understand their expectations, goals, and concerns. By really listening to each patient, I gain insight needed to provide them with the dental care and results they desire.
I believe patients deserve to be fully informed of their diagnoses and to understand the options available to correct issues. By walking patients through everything, and answering their questions, I help them make knowledgeable decisions about their dental care. I also focus on patient education and prevention, teaching each patient how to maintain their healthiest smile!
After growing up in Boynton Beach, Florida, I now consider St. Louis to be my home. In my spare time, I like visiting Forest Park, trying new-to-me foods, traveling, and FaceTiming with my two nephews, Joshua and Mateen, who are in California. As a Florida native, I enjoy visiting the coast and beach whenever possible, too.
